Compliance w/Mask Wearing on Property
Dear L-H Families:
I hope this email finds you well and ready for the long weekend. Inasmuch as we have had an outstanding response to our protocols - observations are being made that require your immediate attention and resolution as applicable - please also communicate with your caregivers.

1. Masks MUST be worn while on school property (this applies to students, staff and caregivers).

2. School property consists of any land on the inside of the sidewalks along Woodland, Crescent and Sherman avenues - to the building. The blacktop and fields behind the school are school property.

3. There is no use of the playground during school hours - 8:00-3:00 ( this includes at 12:30 dismissal, as this is the time in which students are expected to go home, have lunch and prepare for remote instruction will starts this Tuesday, 9/8/2020 daily from 1:30-3:00)

Ultimately, it is incumbent on our entire L-H community (staff, students , parents and caregivers) to follow the rules and protocols that are designed to keep us safe, so we can get on with the business of learning. I appreciate your attention to this matter, communication with any caregivers and understanding that in the event there is not a resolution on the part of some individuals - I will be addressing these families directly, in tandem with communicating to the Board Office.

With sincere appreciation for your help -
Matt

Volunteer Opportunity
CLASS PARENTS
We welcome you to volunteer to become a class parent for your child’s class for the 2020-21 school year. We’ll continue with the traditions of collecting money for teacher appreciation gifts and spreading the PTO word but also encourage you to connect with students/families, appreciate your own teacher in unique ways and maintain class community.

VIRTUAL LIASONS
Is your child participating in virtual academics this school year? We encourage you to sign up to be a virtual parent liaison, which we’ll select by grade level. The roles and responsibilities will be to encourage collaboration amongst the virtual community as technical troubleshooting arises, share ideas on how to address socialization and help connect students with one another.

Class parents and virtual liasons will be selected at random based on the number of entries. Thank you for your time and consideration as it is greatly appreciated and critical for this school year.

The PTO will be treating our LH teachers and staff to a grab and go lunch from Zappias (we're supporting our local establishments!) on Tuesday 9/29, to let them know how much we appreciate their ongoing commitment to our students. In conjunction, we'd like to show our teachers that though we won't see them at Back to School Night in person that evening, we miss them and are thinking of them on this day - so, please come to 12:30 dismissal with your loudest cheer, best clap, or any signage you wish, to help recognize and thank our teachers. Let's show our "PRIDE" to them!

CUSTODIAL APPRECIATION DAY 10/1
The PTO has sweet treats and gift cards crafted from our local stores for each of our three resident custodians, Mr. Nash, Mrs. Rushton and Mr. Wells, as well as some celebratory balloons prepared to celebrate them in the custodial lounge on Thursday, 10/1 in honor of Custodial Appreciation Day.

We will miss the opportunity to celebrate them in person, so invite you to download this"virtual high-five" to thank them for our commitment to keeping our school the safe environment it continues to be.
