Mentor Families Needed for 2025-2026

The Chair for the New Family Committee for the 2025-26 school year is collecting names for new families to LH (either entering with a first grader or new to town in upper grades) and will look to set them up with a veteran family at LH who can be their mentor family.

As a mentor family, you will self-select from the list of new families looking for this.  It could be a family who either lives near you, or has a similar age child or children as you, and you would be their  "go to" all on things LH.  You will be there to help answer questions or make connections within the community.  Some of the questions they may have are questions about  the building, about teachers, how to access Genesis, even as wide as about Summit. It's always nice to have a familiar name and/or face for these new families to connect with. Do not feel obligated to meet up with them, but of course, please do so if you so choose. It may be helpful to connect them with a student or two who may overlap in neighborhoods, sport/activity  or even just grade, as right now, we don’t yet know class assignments. Of course, use the group if you can’t answer the question yourself!

Anyone who is interested in being a mentor family should reach out to Laura Buccola who will be putting together a working spreadsheet of new families following First Grade Orientation on May 21.

Thanks again! Please reach out with any questions.

Send Nominations for the L-H Volunteer Award

Every year at the end of the school year we look to honor one or two people who will be leaving the school after this school year (because their youngest child is in fifth grade), but who have made a lasting impact throughout their years at the school.

If you'd like to nominate someone whose last child is in fifth grade this year and who has been an outstanding volunteer and contributor to the L-H community during their time at the school, please submit your nominees to lincolnhubbardpto@gmail.com by May 30th.

Comfort Creature Pet Therapy Visit

Hey students! You did an amazing job powering through state testing-now it’s time to de-stress and recharge  📝✨ We’re excited to announce the L-H PTO was able to secure therapy dogs from Comfort Creature Pet Therapy to visit students in grades 1-5 in their classrooms.

Therapy dogs will be visiting our students the afternoon of Monday, May 19 and the morning of Tuesday, May 20.

We are thankful to these volunteers and their pets who are offering their time to enhance the days of our students. As they say 🐕‍🦺 ❤️ Cold Noses, Warming Hearts.

Field Day at Lincoln-Hubbard is May 22nd!

We filled all the volunteer roles! Please use the sign up below for instructions or simply as a reminder for one of the best days at L-H on Thursday, 5/22 (rain date 5/23)!

Field Day Volunteers

ALL VOLUNTEERS will sign in with Ms. Downey, and then at 8:15 am, they will meet Miss Durkin on the blacktop so she can explain the stations and answer any questions if needed.
Field Day will start at 9am and end at 11am (grades 1-2) and 11:45am (grades 3-5).
If you signed up to donate mini water bottles, they should be dropped off the same-day at picnic tables on the grass near the blacktop between 8-9am.

Thank you in advance for volunteering and/or donating!

Your Scholastic Dollars At Work

The LH PTO has made good use of the scholastic dollars accumulated thanks to the generous purchases made by you during the fall book fair!

PTO representatives visited each classroom in the building and took a note of some very specific needs, which include classroom rugs, cozy seating, book display cases, non-fiction books, chapter books for a particular fifth grade classroom and indoor recess items.

Thank you again for participating in our programming, of which the fruits of your labor have been poured back into the classrooms!

Extra dollars were also used to thank our fabulously dedicated staff with their very own teacher tumblers which were used at the teacher appreciation luncheon.

We look forward to partnering with you again at next year's book fair!
