LH Cares set up a special assembly for the first graders, who were visited by Ms. Anita Egan of The Seeing Eye in Morristown and her guide dog, Macy. The students learned all about the organization, what it does for the blind and what goes into the training of the guide dogs.

Over the next two weeks, the first graders will be promoting their cause by coming around to the classrooms and advertising on behalf of The Seeing Eye for their program called Pennies for Puppies; they will be in charge of collating donations and in-kind donations. Collection bins will be in each of the first grade classrooms through March 31.
