This Friday, Dec. 16 is the end of the first trimester. Your child's report card will be posted in Genesis at 3 pm. You can click here to access the Genesis parent portal.

The PTO uses funds donated by you to help support Cultural Arts assemblies for your children throughout the school year. Coming up on Tuesday, Dec. 13 will be the bGreat Show. Magic, comedy, story-telling, audience participation, and more will help students learn about trustworthiness, caring, responsibility, fairness, respect, and citizenship.  

Other assemblies this year will include Hip Hop Fundamentals in January, Nai Ne Chen Dance Company in February, the Brain Show in March, and Corey the Dribbler in June.  

There are some amazing changes coming to the playground! The installation process for three new pieces of playground equipment should be done this coming week. 

A huge thank you to our parent community whose generous donations last school year during our Give and Give Back campaign made this enhancement project possible, and also to our Playground Committee (Becky Zacharias, Danielle Chizzik, Irina Schneid, and Corrine White) for all of their time and work on this process. 

We'll post pictures next week, but if you're at school be sure to look for these new playground items!

If you missed last Friday's PTO meeting with District Literacy Coach Abigail Emerson and Instructional Facilitator Dena Leslie, we've posted their presentation here on our website.

The two offered insight into how reading and math are approached at the elementary level, and have some great ideas for activities you can do with your children at home to help support them in these areas!

If you'd like to donate items for the staff lounge to help keep them hydrated, caffeinated and energized, you can sign up to bring something in here.

L-H Cares will be collecting diapers for GRACE through Wednesday, Dec. 21. They specifically need larger-sized diapers and packages of wipes. If you can donate anything it would be greatly appreciated!

And in the STEAM lab, Mrs. Brennan thanks everyone for their donations. She still needs empty shoe boxes, so if you've got any to spare, send them her way!

Planning ahead for activities over Winter Break? Save the Date for Thursday, Dec. 29 from 2 - 6 pm at Color Me Mine in town. Meet up with friends and have fun painting pottery while supporting L-H. Color Me Mine will donate 20% of ceramics proceeds to the school.

During the weeks of Jan. 9 and Jan. 16, local fitness studios will offer some fun classes to the L-H community. Reconnect with friends after winter break or meet some new ones, try something new, and start the new year off active! The studios will generously donate a portion of the proceeds to benefit L-H. Sign up now to reserve your spots! More information on each class can be found here.
