Give and Give Back Update: We've Reached Our Second Milestone!

We've made it to $15,000! That means your kids get EXTRA RECESS! (We can hear them cheering already.)

The schedule will be as follows:

-- Tuesday: Grades 2 & 5

-- Thursday: Grades 1, 3 4

But we still have more to go to get to our $30,000 goal. And YOU can help!

THANK YOU!

Art Collaboration With Visual Arts Center Starts This Week; Volunteers Needed!

Beginning on Wednesday, May 3 and continuing through Friday, May 19, art classes will be led by artist and art therapist Megan Tuttle, in conjunction with Ms.Yospin and parent volunteers.

This PTO-sponsored program utilizes the visual arts to support the social emotional wellness of our student community -- we know that using art as a tool for expression can help to identify, manage, and cope with various sources of stress and anxiety.

If you want to come volunteer for your child's class, please click here.

Monday is School Principal's Day!

Let's all celebrate the one and only Mr. Carlin!

Below are a couple of coloring pages you can download and print out. Or feel free to have your child make their own card!

Parent Social Thursday at Bar Bacoa
It's Teacher Appreciation Week!

The PTO will be hosting a luncheon for our staff on Wednesday to thank them for all they do.

We encourage you to have your children make drawings or cards for their teachers. You can also download and use the one below!

Backyard Playdate AND Talent Show Friday

Join us after school on Friday, May 5 for a Backyard Playdate.

And then come check out our awesomely talented first- through third-graders that night at the Talent Show!

Want to Get More Involved at L-H? We Need Some PTO Board Members for Next Year!

We're already planning ahead for next year, and we have a few positions open on the Executive PTO Board. Specifically, we're looking for the following positions:

--  Co-VP’s (this is a 2-year commitment, as this position moves to president the following year)

-- Assistant Webmaster (updates the PTO website)

-- Assistant Communications (sends out the weekly newsletter as well as other one-off communications)

The Executive Board meets once a month, usually for about an hour, in the morning at school.

If you're interested in one of these positions, please email the PTO today!

Thank You To Boys Night Out Chairs

Thank you to Boys Night Out chairs Caitlin Porpora, Maria Williams and our parent volunteers for an awesome night on Friday evening!

STEAM Lab Needs Plastic Bags

We know that they've been banned in local stores, but if you happen to have any grocery-store-sized plastic bags at home, they can use them in the STEAM lab!

Congrats to Our Fifth-Graders! Bake Sale Raises $1,000!

Thank you to everyone who helped make our 5th-grade bake sale a huge success. They were able to raise $1,000 to support GRACE and Bridges. We're so proud of them, and grateful to you for your support!

Your PTO Dollars at Work

We're excited to have the Visual Arts Center come to L-H starting this week to work with our students. This program encourages students to feel a sense of freedom and self-discovery in a school environment, where there is no such thing as a “bad” emotion, and works to help students with regulating stress, particularly during testing season.

We can't wait to see what your students create!

This program is possible because of your donations to the PTO.
