Author/Artist Bryan Collier Coming to L-H on Tuesday!


We're excited to welcome author-illustrator Bryan Collier, recipient of multiple Caldecott Honors and Coretta Scott King awards as well as the Ezra Jack Keats New Illustrator Award, this Tuesday, Feb. 28.  


He will be discussing the following titles with the children during his presentations and will be happy to sign any books:

Dave the Potter by Laban Carrick Hill

Tuesday is Last Day to Send in Toiletries for Third-Grade Collection


Third-graders are collecting toiletries and hand warmers for Bridges through this Tuesday, Feb. 28. Boxes are up front by the main office and over by the library.

Registration is now open for this summer's FLASH program! FLASH offers a variety of engaging and creative learning pathways in its summer program. Learn more at the FLASH website.

Time to Send in the Spuds


Time to start sending in your potato creations! Students can drop them off beginning tomorrow, Monday, Feb. 27, through March 2.


February is Read Across America month, and to celebrate, we're participating in a potato book character contest where kids turn an ordinary household potato into their favorite book character.

Learn How to Support Executive Functioning at District Workshop


Elementary school parents are invited to attend a parent workshop called Strategies for Supporting Children's Executive Functioning Skills on Wednesday, March 1 from 9 - 10 am. 


The workshop will be held in the Summit High School Library Media Center, but it will also be live-streamed on the Summit Public Schools YouTube Channel.

Lots of Ways to Support SEF!


The SEF annual fundraising gala, Spring for Excellence, takes place Saturday, March 4 at 7 pm at the Elks Club.


On March 1, you can also support SEF by shopping at the following stores downtown and mentioning you're supporting SEF:

The Silver Lining, Tea & Oranges, Willow St, A to Zoom, Sweet Nothings and The Red Balloon, Piattino’s and The Office                                                      


    You can also sign up here to contribute a bottle of wine for the wine pull that will take place the night of the event.

Tickets On Sale For High School and Middle School Musicals


SHS’s musical Something Rotten! is live NEXT WEEK, March 1 - 4. There is now a livestream for Wednesday and Thursday shows (March 1 and 2 at 6 pm). Both Tickets and livestream are for sale here: https://www.showtix4u.com/events/hilltopper



And starting tomorrow, Monday, Feb. 27, you can purchase tickets to the middle school's performance, The Little Mermaid, which runs March 17 - 19

Costume Help Needed For Seussical


We're in need of a few items for the upcoming L-H musical, Seussical. Please reach out to Gemma Davies if you have any of the following items:


-- 8 Denim jackets that can be cut up (sizes 8 -12)

-- a brown/tan fur (faux) vest or jacket, size 8 - 10

-- a Grinch costume
